Cruz jumpstarted off his early career appearing in numerous teen movies and TV shows. Through the years, Cruz has evolved as a mature actor as he became one of the highly praised leading men and drama actors in his generation with his critically-acclaimed roles both in movies and televison. His well-known on-screen partners include the likes of Kaye Abad, Bea Alonzo and Sarah Geronimo. Recently, he has been given the monicker as the Philippine's Box Office King.
Cruz is also a member of ABS-CBN's elite circle of homegrown talents properly named Star Magic where he's a Batch 5 alumni. He has been with ABS-CBN throughout of his career since he started on 1996 until present.
